The Morulem Town Piped Water Supply System expansion project was aimed at enhancing water supply infrastructure in the Morulem area, ensuring reliable access to clean water for the community. The scope of work included:

  • Construction of Pump Station: Building a pump station capable of discharging 15.3 cubic meters per hour to meet the water demand.
  • Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Package: Supplying, installing, and commissioning a solar PV system to provide sustainable energy for the Orwamuge Water Supply System in Abim District.
  • Construction of Pumping Main: Developing the main pipeline to facilitate the transport of water from the source to the distribution network.
  • Steel Tank Construction: Building and commissioning a pre-fabricated cold-pressed steel tank, elevated on 1.5-meter dwarf walls, to store treated water.
  • Distribution Pipeline Network: Laying down 14.89 kilometers of the main distribution pipeline network according to design specifications.
  • Consumer Connections: Establishing 200 consumer connections to provide water access directly to households and businesses.
  • Pump Attendants House and Eco-San Toilet: Constructing a pump attendants house and a urine diversion dry toilet (eco-san) at the pump station for operational needs.
  • Water Office Construction: Building a fully furnished water office to manage operations effectively, adhering to design and specification requirements.
  • Grid Power Extension: Extending grid power to the pumping stations to ensure a reliable energy source for operation.
  • Access Road Construction: Constructing a 4.5-kilometer access road to improve transport and maintenance access to the water supply system.
